But what Enrico Brignoli and Franco Fasoli, respectively the architect and engineer who took care of the design at the time, did not know is that today, exactly 60 years later, the building has just become an eco-sustainable smart building, nonetheless home to <strong>Credit Agricole.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renamed <strong>VG9<\/strong>, acronym for <strong>Vigentina9<\/strong>, the new building that will house the French banking giant (and its subsidiaries <strong>Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Vita, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assicurazioni and Stelvio Agenzia Assicurazioni<\/strong>) is a huge block with a total area of<strong> 5600 square meters<\/strong> and represents a turning point green revisited in full Milan style of the third millennium, thanks to a huge building redevelopment project signed by the <strong>Lombardini22 Group<\/strong> (here the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.l22.it\/progetti\/vigentina9\">link to the official website<\/a> with the details of the project). According to the official press release issued by the CEO of Credit Agricole <strong>Marco Di Guida,<\/strong> the building is &#8220;a tangible expression of the group&#8217;s philosophy and its sensitivity towards eco-sustainable investments&#8221;; his words are of joy and pride: in fact, according to him, the Milan office was built to &#8220;concretely express the attention and importance we attach to people&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The work spaces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more than 250 employees of the <strong>Credit Agricole headquarters in Milan<\/strong> will be lucky, as their workplace will be tailor-made for them, with attention to space and respect for work-life balance. Inside, in fact, all the workplaces will be contained within various <strong>open spaces<\/strong>; alongside them there will be numerous <strong>multifunctional offices<\/strong> and common areas, created with the aim of socializing, meeting but also &#8211; obviously &#8211; for business meetings, which can be booked directly online using an app designed for the purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The project in detail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire <strong>Vigentina9<\/strong> building has been reinvented and redeveloped according to the idea of minimizing the environmental impact, enhancing the urban context in which it is located and with the key concepts of <strong>sustainability and innovation in mind.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But at the same time, the <strong>new Credit Agricole headquarters<\/strong> was not completely upset, also &#8211; and above all &#8211; so as not to create a too strong detachment with the <strong>church of Santa Maria al Paradiso, <\/strong>which is right in front of it. The <strong>window<\/strong> turned towards the church is one of the protagonists of the project: this new orientation guarantees the building natural protection from the direct sun; behind it there is also space for a second window, this time opaque, in bronze-colored oxidized and brushed aluminum, to ensure better heat retention in winter and less direct sunlight in summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rest of the project involved numerous further &#8220;secondary&#8221; changes, including the construction of the new staircase, the complete renovation of the garage on the second basement floor, the renovation of the bathrooms, the entrances, the demolition of numerous internal walls, and of course the updating of <strong>mechanical,<\/strong> <strong>electrical <\/strong>and <strong>elevator<\/strong> <strong>systems<\/strong>, completely revising the escape route system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renovation of the building also included a series of <strong>structural interventions, <\/strong>aimed at improving the seismic efficiency of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <strong>Degw<\/strong> architects, who studied the interiors, the concept behind the restyling of the building in Corso Porta Vigentina concerns the four elements: the fluidity of the water, the solidity of the earth, and the lightness and elegance of fire and air, all this to give continuity to apparently very different spaces and environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leed certification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With 85 points out of 110, the <strong>Vigentina9<\/strong> project has earned the coveted <strong>Leed Platinum <\/strong>certification, the highest possible according to the well-known building eco-compatibility protocol.
